Epoqu'Auto Lyon 2024: 75 exceptional automotive artworks displayed on 2 stands
From 8 to 10th November 2024, the Lyon Exhibition Center (Eurexpo) welcomed +109,000 visitors for one of the must-attend events for classic and collector cars: the Epoqu'Auto show. This 45ᵉ edition was marked by the unique presence of My Pilot Collection, which transformed the event into a veritable ephemeral gallery dedicated to automotive art.
Two automotive art exhibitions in one, showcasing the work of talented automotive craftsmen & artists.
Despite a major setback - the organizing team forgot to set up our stand, causing a considerable delay - our team's perseverance enabled us to deliver not one, but two memorable exhibitions. More than 75 works of art were displayed in Hall 6, in two areas: the My Pilot Collection stand and the one of the Fédération Française des Véhicules d'Époque (FFVE).
The My Pilot Collection stand in particular offered an immersion into a varied and complementary universe, celebrating automotive art in all its forms.
- Valérie Durand, nicknamed "the portraitist of the celebrities", illuminated our space with a vibrant collection of knife paintings dedicated to icons such as Steve McQueen and Charles Leclerc. Her artworks, produced on canvas, plexiglas and aluminium, captivated visitors with their depth and unique intensity.
- Laurent Léoncini, a photographic artist inspired by science fiction and the Mad Max universe, presented original digital compositions and photos of Formula 1 cars with perspectives like few others. His work mix vintage style with futuristic visions, immersing viewers in a world where imagination and innovation meet.
- The ‘Pilote’ furniture collection (trolleys & containers) has made a particularly strong impression. A superb blend of the automotive and aeronautical worlds, this furniture (containers, trolleys and more) paid tribute to iconic brands such as Mustang, Porsche, Ferrari, Gulf ... Endlessly customisable, these pieces attracted the attention of many enthusiasts, including a Porsche container that has found its new home.
.
- A Parisian bistro table, with a Saint-Gobain glass top that can be customised with the artwork of your choice, added a touch of elegance and French savoir-faire to our stand.
- L'Automobilier's unique creations, such as buggies made from recycled war bomb shells, vintage art deco Bugatti & Aston Martin can lamps, and Jaguar XK120 or Rolls Royce pencil holders, surprised and seduced with their combination of nostalgia and refinement.
- Car2Art once again pushed back the boundaries of creativity, with pieces such as twin lamps made from Jaguar fuel caps, a Bluetooth speaker encircled by a Ferrari 430 brake disc, a lamp made from a Ferrari 456GT brake caliper, and a Ferrari XX jewellery box sparkling with originality and elegance.
A unique encounter with Henri Pescarolo & Gérard Larousse
One of the highlights of the show was when our founder, Léa Crusel, met two automotive legends: Henri Pescarolo and Gérard Larousse. These passionate exchanges, which took place on the Matra Sport stand, led to promising discussions about potential collaborations. Stay tuned for further news on unique collection projects!
A tribute to art, cars and passion in exclusive collaboration with the FFVE
My Pilot Collection' s partners also stood out with their presence on a second stand, in collaboration with the Fédération Française des Véhicules d'Époque (FFVE).
Their cocktail & VIP areas were enhanced by 21 carefully selected works of automotive art created by 7 different artists & craftsmen, amongst Le Muret des Stands, S.Fantini Art and L'Automobilier. A touch of originality that delighted professionals and collectors alike.
Epoqu'Auto 2024 kept showing that My Pilot Collection's adopt an innovative approach to the representation of automobile artists, while offering enthusiasts rare, timeless pieces imbued with automotive passion.
