In 1998, Sébastien Sauvadet penned a book delving into the realm of sports prototypes from the year 1968.

While this drawing was initially conceived as an illustrative contribution for the book, fate took an unexpected turn, and the publication never came to fruition. Today, Sébastien wish to give passionate enthusiasts the opportunity to possess fragments of this automotive history that he wanted to tell about.

The Ford GT40 in Gulf livery stands as an enduring symbol of motorsport excellence, etching its place in history with four consecutive Le Mans victories from 1966 to 1969. This particular creation pays homage to Jacky Ickx's triumph in the rain-soaked 1000km of SPA in 1968, a victory foreshadowing his subsequent conquest at Le Mans in the same year.

Adorned in the iconic powder blue and marigold orange Gulf Oil colors, this racing legend, initially with the MK I and later with the MK II and MK IV, showcased Ford's commitment to a distinctive and memorable design.
Under the banner of John Wyer Automotive, the GT40s achieved a historic 1-2-3 finish at Le Mans in 1969, solidifying their status as historic icons.

Beyond the racetrack, the Gulf livery gained cinematic fame in Steve McQueen's "Le Mans" and continues to captivate enthusiasts today, with limited edition tribute cars and original models being highly sought after by collectors.
