💛 THE EXPERT'S WORD

Le Mans 1977 was a memorable race for Jacky Ickx, marked by extraordinary twists and turns. Two Porsche 936s were entered in the race.

Unfortunately, Ickx's car soon suffered mechanical problems, forcing him to retire early. In a bold decision at the time, the team decided to transfer Ickx to the other car, despite his own mechanical problems. This car was then running in 40th position.

In a remarkable achievement, Ickx completed three stints in the pouring rain overnight, propelling the car to second place. His team-mate then took over and went on to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The location of the illustration shows the Porsche between the Mulsanne and Indianapolis bends. The yellow car represents Jean-Pierre Jabouille's Renault Alpine, which was leading the race before being overtaken.

What are the differences between the supports?

Fine Art Paper, Digigraphy printing

Simple Plexiglas

The printing is done directly onto the back of 4mm thick Plexiglas, then enhanced with a layer of white adhesive.

The Plexiglas is fitted with a 2cm thick medium wood hanging frame that allows the picture to be removed from the wall.

It's a modern support that's extremely bright and deep, perfectly suited to small and medium formats.

The printing is done directly onto the back of 4mm thick Plexiglas, then enhanced with a layer of white.

The Plexiglas is then lined with an aluminium plate and a 2 cm thick hanging frame, also in aluminium, so that the illustration can be lifted off the wall.

The aluminium plate gives the painting excellent rigidity, avoiding reflections caused by the flexibility of the Plexiglas, which is very appreciated for large formats.

This is a very high-end modern medium, extremely luminous and deep.
