  • About the Porsche Flat 6 : The Heart of Stuttgart

    Since 1963, the Porsche flat-6 engine - the legendary "boxer" - has powered some of the most iconic sports cars in automotive history. Initially developed for the original 911, this horizontally opposed 6-cylinder architecture became synonymous with balance, reliability, and emotional driving. Its distinctive sound, described as mechanical music by purists, is as much a signature as its engineering.

    The air-cooled flat-6 was used until 1998, with the 993 being the last model to carry its legacy, making it highly coveted among collectors. In motorsport, this engine helped Porsche dominate endurance racing, from the 911 RSR to the 935 nicknamed "Moby Dick". Even today, modern 911s like the GT3 stay true to the naturally aspirated flat-6 heritage, despite turbocharged trends.

    Some of the rarest collector models—like the 911 Carrera RS 2.7, the 993 Turbo S, or the 996 GT3 RS—continue to gain value, not only for their performance but for being milestones in the flat-6 evolution. From Motorcycles to Automotive Sculpture: The Brilliant Trajectory of a Master Metalworker

Frédéric Girard discovered the world of metal shaping at just 15 years old, when he first encountered the age-old craft of coachbuilding. Instantly captivated by the raw beauty of metalwork, he began a lifelong love story with the hammer, the mallet, and the lead stake - traditional tools that soon became an extension of his hands.

He became a motorcycle racer at 18, competing in world endurance championships for over a decade. Speed, precision, and adrenaline shaped his worldview - and they continue to fuel the curves of every sculpture he creates.

Specialising in fine aluminium work, Frédéric developed a deep appreciation for both technical mastery and the purity of mechanical design. Influenced by the vibrant, custom automotive culture of the 1980s - from Chromes & Flammes he began designing custom fuel tanks, an artistic turning point that would mark the beginning of his journey as a sculptor. Today, each of his automotive artworks reflects not just exceptional craftsmanship, but the soul of motion and machine.
