Enzo’s Eye and the Soul of the 250 SWB

BY Jean-Marie Corre

Pininfarina’s Signature, Enzo’s Standards, 250 SWB Automotive Artwork

This unique 1/1 acrylic painting by French automotive artist Jean-Marie Corre pays tribute to the Ferrari 250 SWB, one of Maranello’s most revered machines - a masterpiece born of Pininfarina’s pencil and Enzo Ferrari’s obsession for balance, beauty, and purpose. Painted with precision and depth, this composition evokes not only the car’s form, but the reverence it commands from those who understand its place in history.

The glossy paintwork reflects the silhouette of the Ferrari family home, grounding this legendary machine in the intimacy of its origins. The acrylic technique allows every curves to breathe with light, creasing a celebration of Italian craftsmanship at its zenith. This is not a static scene - it is a moment of introspection, of pride, of silence before speed. A visual homage to the 250’s dual nature: an engineering prowess combined with a sculptural grace.

Whether you're a connoisseur of Ferrari’s golden era, a collector of icons designed by italians, or simply a gentleman who values mechanic as much as aestheticism, this unique work of art is the perfect opportunity to pay a discreet but powerful tribute to one of Enzo's most beautiful legacies.

For exhibition, collection or transmission - gift this 250 GT SWB at Home acrylic painting, revealing the moment when Enzo Ferrari contemplated his creation and saw perfection in its reflection.

  • SWB: Three Letters, A legendary Pedigree, Endless Desire

Unveiled in 1959, the Ferrari 250 GT SWB (Short Wheelbase) marked a turning point in Maranello’s GT evolution - equally at home on road and track. With its 2,400 mm wheelbase, it offered sharper handling than its predecessors, and was beloved by pilots for its agility and balance.

Powered by the legendary Colombo 3.0L V12, it could reach speeds over 250 km/h, depending on the configuration. Both steel-bodied “Lusso” versions and lightweight aluminium Competizione variants were built, making each example unique. Styled by Pininfarina and bodied by Scaglietti, its proportions are often cited as the blueprint of Ferrari beauty.

The 250 SWB scored key victories at Tour de France Automobile, Goodwood TT, and Le Mans (GT class), building its dual reputation as a race car and grand tourer.
Just over 160 examples were made, and today it is one of the most collectible Ferraris ever built. Its blend of aesthetic perfection, performance, and historical significance makes it a cornerstone of any serious Ferrari collection.

About the Artist.

The eye of an engineer, the soul of an artist

Jean-Marie is a self-taught artist whose passion is closely linked to the vintage cars his father collected. Engineer at a major french car manufacturer and painter in his spare time, he seized the opportunity of the health crisis to fulfill his childhood dream: to become a painter and exhibit his artwork at automotive events.

His work pays tribute to the golden age of motor racing (1950s-60s), a time when drivers were daring adventurers, driven by boundless courage. Jean-Marie strives to capture the essence of these suspended moments: uncovered faces, basic helmets, reflections on curved bodywork...

He composes his canvases like photographs taken by a photographer transported back in time, playing with light, light and shade, contrasts, and atmospheres. Acrylic allows him to enhance the details, while watercolor offers him more spontaneous freedom. Now recognized in the automotive art world, Jean-Marie offers a sensitive and poetic interpretation of classic cars.
